This game mode, which normally allows for cooperation of four players and a greater measure of non-linearity than before, was tailor-made for PC and the eight generation consoles. The developers explained that it was impossible to implement the campaign in its existing form on older platforms without compromising its quality. They also reasoned that this mode has always had relatively low popularity in comparison with multiplayer.
